Blaqstarr will release his gritty, grimy Supastarr EP March 6 via Mad Decent. It will be his first album for the Diplo-run label. Standing in the streets of his native Baltimore, Blaqstarr (not to be confused with the Mos Def/Talib Kweli duo Black Star) positions himself between the exploratory eccentricities of his neighbors to the north and the gutbucket crunk of his southern cousins. This EP will be followed by a 12-inch of “Shake It To The Ground” with remixes by Switch and Claude Von Stroke. You can also check out Blaqstarr on the upcoming Yung Joc and M.I.A. albums; he contributed to both.
