Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse, and David Lynch are collaborating on a new project on a new project together. The project titled “Dark Night Of The Soul” is rumored to feature, among others, David Lynch, The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, Iggy Pop, Frank Black and The Flaming Lips‘ Wayne Coyne. No official release date yet but expect to hear more about it sometime in June.

Opening reception is Saturday April 25th at 7PM PST.

The Nike X Steve Nash “Zoom MVP Trash Talk II “ will drop on April 22, 2009 “Earth Day.” The eco-friendly Basketball shoe features an upper stitched together with leather and synthetic waste materials, an outsole constructed from “Nike Grind” a material from outsole manufacturing waste, and laces made from recycled polyester as well as a recycled EVA sockliner. The shoe will be packaged in a corrugated shoe box made from 100 percent recycled fiber, using 30 percent less material compared to the previous design.
“I have a passion for preserving our environment, so if I can wear a Nike basketball shoe that reuses waste, performs on the court and is packaged in a shoebox made from 100 percent recycled fiber, then that’s a winning combination,” said Nash.

Bobbito Garcia will speak at Carnegie Mellon University on April 6th, 2009. Bobbito will discuss the undeniable impact sneakers have had in the cultural landscape emanating from Hip-Hop and sports as it eventually became the pop icon it is now. Bobbito Garcia’s “Where’d You Get Those?” serves as Sneakerology 101’s official textbook. The hour long lecture is open to the public and starts at 4:00 pm, April 6th at the McConomy Auditorium.
