James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured “Godfather of Soul,” whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of hip-hop, funk and disco as well, died early today (Dec. 25),. He was 73. Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia at Emory Crawford Long Hospital on Sunday and died around 1:45 a.m. today on Christmas day. Our Regards go out to his family. He will be missed but, his music and infuence lives on in almost every hit record recorded in the last 20 years and in the future.
