For Valentine’s Day this year, why not get the one you love a one-of-a-kind work of art? Bono and Damien Hirst have teamed up with Sotheby’s and Gagosian Gallery for the (Red) Auction, which will take place on February 14 and will showcase works inspired by the color red (all proceeds will go to benefit HIV/AIDS programs in Africa). As featured in an article in December’s Vogue, the auction will include pieces from world-renowned artists such as Matthew Barney, Marc Quinn, Jeff Koons, Ed Ruscha, Andreas Gursky, and Hirst himself. Our personal favorite is Takashi Murakami’s “Red Flower Ball (3D),” complete with his signature characters and sure to put a smile on your Valentine’s face!
