Yesterday she reminded those who didn’t remember or know her impact and influence on modern R&B and hip hop music.
Last night Missy dropped surprise EP titled Iconology, marking the first time she’s released a collection of songs since her 2005 album The Cookbook. Along with the Iconology, EP Missy dropped a music video for Throw it Back the number 2 track on the 5 track Iconology EP. The Throw it Back video is classic Missy, Colorful, innovative camera work, intricate dance moves, featuring Bald headed backup dancers; a moon landing, jumping rope made of braids, Gold grills, Cheerleaders with Afro Pom Poms; and wild crazy lipstick colors in every seen. all combined together in a way that only Queen Missy could deliver.
Missy will accept the Video Vanguard Award on the VMA’s this Monday. Earlier this year she entered the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
